Why We Are Participating

Captain Cure Comic (www.captaincure.net) is the brainchild of Ty Wakefield. Diagnosed at 29 in March 2007 Ty continues to fight osteosarcoma. Captain Cure is Ty's contribution to help children (and adults) understand the personal and medical effects of fighting cancer. Comic #1...Captain Cure: Kicking Cancer's Butt...came out in November 2008. Issue #2 is expected later this summer - 2009.

A Message To Potential Benefactors

Every penny counts! Please help us in the fight and make cancer a historical footnote. Ty's battle continues. He and Angie are back in Seattle to assess next steps after the failure of the clinical trial to halt the lung metastases and the appearance of a suspicious lump on his leg. ***UPDATE: Ty will undergo surgery Thursday July 16th to remove the new tumor on his leg and lung surgery for the metastasis on August 18th.*** What he wants more than anything is a way forward to a cure. Contributing to the Captain Cure Team on behalf of the NW Sarcoma Foundation provides each of you with the opportunity to help Ty and Captain Cure continue to take the steps necessary for a cancer free future.
