Hike Features and Details

You don't need to be a cyclist to participate in Jackson's Ride the Gorge! We also have hike options for those of you who want to get out and explore the Columbia River Gorge on two legs. This region is well known for its many glorious hiking options, and we'll offer you some of the best as you explore with an experienced hiking guide.

TWO GORGEOUS TRAIL OPTIONS

3.4 MILE - LOST LAKE: A family friendly 3.4-mile loop (100 feet elevation gain) around a beautiful lake on the upper reaches of Mt Hood. Stroll through magnificent old-growth forest and enjoy breathtaking views of Mt Hood. Stay another hour and rent a canoe or take a dip in the crystal clear (and invigorating!) water. This hike has an optional, and more challenging, hike up Lost Lake Butte with 3.8 miles round trip and 1800 feet of elevation gain. On a clear day, the hiker is rewarded with stunning views of Mt Hood, Adams and Rainier.

This hike option requires a 45 minute drive from the start location to reach the trailhead. VIEW MAP + DIRECTIONS TO HERE FROM THE EVENT START LOCATION

9-MILE ADVANCED HIKE - HAMILTON MOUNTAIN: Join us for a 9-mile hike (2,500 feet elevation gain) to the top of Hamilton Mountain for breathtaking vistas of the Columbia River. The hike will include spectacular Hardy Falls, magnificent Douglas firs, and a stroll through an impressive deciduous forest. This trail never fails to impress hikers.

This hike option requires a 40 minnute drive from the start location to the trailhead at Beacon Rock State Park, near the Day Use Area. VIEW MAP + DIRECTIONS TO HERE FROM THE EVENT START LOCATION

WHAT TO BRING

Please note: Dogs are not allowed at the event due to the location of the finish line party. You are welcome to bring your dog along for the hike if you have a home to take him/her to after the hike. It will be too hot and too dangerous to leave your beloved pet in a vehicle after the hike, so that is not an option. We will provide Larabars and some other snacks at the start line that you may pack with you for the hike.

REGISTRATION

$45 - Advance (closes at 11:59 on Thursday, July 16)

This is a fundraising hike. All hikers are required to raise a minimum of $100 contributions for Northwest Sarcoma.
